I used to host a thing called WRITING PRACTITIONERS through Meetup (here we are after the first wrtg prac "meetup" i hosted in auckland, aotearoa back in 2018), and since everything is just whatever, right now (&i got an "invite" from utoob to create a "course" on utoob studio, etc.), I've decided to create some videos of the sort of thing I used to/can do/would do and do do in-person. The goal is to make accessible writing practice.

1 min | I knew it was a mistake as soon as it hit my tongue

I felt it slither down my throat and ride my intestines like a water slide all the while knowing that it would inevitably have to exit my body in some shape or form. My only hope was to survive, whether [time ended but if you have a complete thought, finish it] or not the thing itself did, too. 

1 min | Without it, he was powerless

I can't be powerless; that's not fair. I spent the entire day charging, and for what? to be duped into believing that all electricity is the same? What do you [illegible] that this outlet cannot charge me without a specific type of charger?

30 sec | Heavy is the head ...

that gets stuck in the bowl bc he was dared to see if his head actually fit in the bowl, but alas,

all there was to know all that had been [illegible] now in the hands of the shore upon which the sands decide where all hope resides ...

Afterall, morgues are where people who have left their corpses to rot here on earth as they go into the beyond, wherever "there" may be at the end of this thing we call life, death, The End, and so, when you tell me that it's the smell, yea, that's the smell of death, and when your body, the fleshy living, bodily part o fyou can no longer sustain your life—life—you, too, will smell like rotting flesh, like death

On Barcodes

not to

like

if you're a manufacturer of some product

don't get creative or cute about the barcodes

when looking at the product

let's say

a box of crackers

from its front

the barcode should be on the bottom of the box on the right side

or on the right side of the box

near the bottom

and if you flip the box around so that you can see the back of the box

the barcode should be in the bottom left corner

same sorta thinking goes for bags of chips

canisters

cans

bottles

everything

because what manufacturers and "important" people do not know

is how anything

actually operates

or "works"

on the ground

and so

if you think about it for one fucking minute

you'll realize that most of these items need to be scanned by a human person and/or machine

multiple times

by multiple people and machines

along the supply/delivery chain

and since it doesn't seem to matter where the barcode is placed

for machines along this chain

it'd be nice if the manufacturers thought about the people along this chain

cause most human people are right-handed

and when human people need to scan your product

put the barcode in a practical location on the packaging!

like fucking duh!

i mean

sure

go for it and be "creative"

but if/when i drop your product on the ground

cause i'm scanning five-hundred (500) items

and i can't easily find your product's barcode

so the box/canister/can gets dented

guess who doesn't give two fucks about it?

guess who will never tout some products

but will happily tout others

even products i don't use

when considering the types of entities that couldn't care less about human laborers

the "musicians" of your race have such terrible, mediocre-voices, that you don't even know what a good voice sounds like, and so, when you actually, finally get to hear a voice that is not-mediocre, you, obviously, think it's AI *laugh-cry*

&then, the white-voices that you worship openly admit that they use AI! and you love it!

PHILOSOPHICAL FOCUS | NOODIVERSITY &FREEDOM

i encountered this concept, noodiversity, for the first time a few weeks ago while reading an article in the September ARTFORM. thus, this is a new philosophical concept for me, and i would like to understand it more fully. 

NOODIVERSITY, according to and coined by Yuk Hui, is what he calls, "our way of understanding our relation to the environment, which varies from one locality to another and is embedded in language, customs, and so on." [p122] The concept context is accompanied by two other concepts: technodiversity and biodiversity.

&FREEDOM, feels pretty self-explanatory as a focus for thought-work during these oh-so-current times *sigh*
