YUMMY LOVE | Vol 0.1

i used to follow this yoga-person online, and i even signed up for her email newsletter, becawoose she described the newsletter as a monthly thing that would include a yoga posture and mindfulness exercise, etc. after about two months, the newsletter turned into business updates, and then, it became personal updates, etc., etc., etc., with no monthly yoga posture or mindfulness exercise to be seen, in short, not what i signed up for *sigh*

so i unsubscribed *yawn* but i still want, like, some monthly exercises to fold into my doer's repertoire, you know?

so i realized that I could simply publish (attempt to make curriculum) that which I do on any given month, and if anyone wants to do along with me, Great! simply bookmark this post to reference it, and do along with me! i will eventually move this thing over to findyummylovedotcom (as we are currently in beta) where you can subscribe and like and comment, &shit. in the meantime, we can connect via ig, if we must, lol.

obviously, i have a full-time job (~36hr/wk), but i am a childless adult, so i have a lot of free time.

generally speaking, on any given month, i try to read, write, get some exercise, and make stuff (these days, mostly pics and vids). if my goal is to make into curriculum that which is, essentially, Sun's Sailing Syllabus, i have to be able to identify some rigid structure, form, labels and identifiers, and i hate that. i have an angsty side that really gets bothered by the confinements of that which is deemed "correct," etc. rules stifle creativity, but you cannot be effectively creative without knowing all of the rules, because it is the intelligent ways in which you break the rules that make something creative, thereby, interesting. if you're just, like, doing whatever, that's not necessarily creativity. sure, you may be exercising your creative muscles, but if what you're ultimately creating is "bad," then you don't know the rules, and so, when you make shit, it is bad, instead of creative, intelligent. for an idiot's example of this, watch some recent recording-artist awards show and notice the difference in the set design and overall aesthetics of recording artists that are over-thirty and those who are not *barf* the aesthetic of genz is a fucking mess, cause none of you know anything in its totality, its wholeness, the whole. you've all only ever seen/paid attention to the bits and pieces, the fragments, and you can't see the whole because you won't put down socials and pick up a book *gah*

it's impossible to make this sort of thing make sense in this sort of format, especially since the point of this post is not about whatever "art" means.

anyway ...

as an artist, i thought that i might try publishing my Sailing Syllabus, or like, more generally, my "approach" to my life as a "starving artist," lol. (quick aside, i read online that genz wishes that millennials would stop ending their messages with lol, which is, ironically, so fucking hilarious, amirite?, cause like, it's so blatantly obvious that genz has no idea how to use it, lol ;)

anyway ...

i've decided to start an online publication through my already-owned domain: FINDYUMMYLOVEdotcom *wink wink*

the publication's working title is YUMMY LOVE
lol

the current plan is to spend the rest of The Embers hammering out the details, and this is a LIVE list of the things that i need to do:

  • update the site structure
  • decide on a design format
  • workout what is realistic for me to actually accomplish every single fucking month, month after month, quarter after quarter (as far as creating something for other people to do along with me, it is never a challenge for me to create the way that i do, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, decade after decade; i've been doing it for decades [yes, decades], now)
  • write/create all of the needed pages, etc.
  • diagram all needed pages
  • design the format
  • decide on the level of interactivity desired/plausible
  • design the interactive portions
  • design monthly/quarterly publication image format
  • design monthly/quarterly publication text format
  • design monthly/quarterly upload (posts or pages, one post per month or one post per exercise, etc.)
  • create curriculum
  • decide on a monthly or quarterly time tide

for this first 2025 October YUMMY LOVE Issue 0.1, i have a loose idea of some of the things that i'd like to accomplish, growth-wise, this quarter. YUMMY LOVE is a preemptive publication, which means that at the beginning of each quarter, the themes, exercises, and goals will be presented, but then i will utilize the following three months to actually do and create the exercises and themes, and if you want, you can, too! and so, for this first experimental issue, i will present the tiny tidbits that i do already know that i want included in Sun's Sailing Syllabus in the following format [&remember, this is being/will be updated throughout the three months of this last quarter], and as i complete each assignment, i will link it in this post, and i will do my best to complete everything by the end of this quarter, which happens to be the end of the year, yay:

PHILOSOPHICAL FOCUS | NOODIVERSITY &FREEDOM

i encountered this concept, noodiversity, for the first time a few weeks ago while reading an article in the September ARTFORM. thus, this is a new philosophical concept for me, and i would like to understand it more fully.

NOODIVERSITY, according to and coined by Yuk Hui, is what he calls, "our way of understanding our relation to the environment, which varies from one locality to another and is embedded in language, customs, and so on." [p122] The concept context is accompanied by two other concepts: technodiversity and biodiversity.

&FREEDOM, feels pretty self-explanatory as a focus for thought-work during these oh-so-current times *sigh*

FIND | Fitness

i am returning to yoga, for the general well-being of my body. since we do not want to shell out cash, at this time, for a gym or studio membership where i can dance, i have decided to return to yoga in order to find some more fitness. i have been running moderately, and i will also continue to do that.

Fitness Focus :: Urdhva Mukha Svanasana
  • stretch every day, anything between small and big stretches counts
    • small = minimum of five sun salutations

LOVE | Drawing

  • if you haven't figured out that Book Three is a graphic novel, well, now you know, so it'd be nice to start getting some imagery going for the thing, etc.
  • i actually do not enjoy drawing all that much; it is my least-favorite apparatus(? whatever), but i do enjoy the end-result after i spend time drawing, etc.

&FINALLY | Do I need anything to accomplish these exercises?

  • sketchbook
  • touchscreen stylus (i had one, but we cannot find it!)
